Salsa Hip Hop and Steelpan in May

Image
This summer inter-relate all your favorite dance forms to cultivate deeper physical expression with your dancing. Weather you enjoy Kizomba, Bachata, Salsa or Zouk, HOW you relate to and interpret the music is a skill to continue cultivating. In our Salsa and Hip Hop/Dancehall/AfroLatin Jazz classes, performing YOU is key!  Drop in from 7-9pm for $25 or sign up for the series!  Register via Venmo (look for Balorico) or write to balorico@gmail.com. FOLKLIFE PERFORMANCE  Sunday May 28th, Mural Amphitheater Balorico will present a new piece set on the Seattle Women's' Steelpan Group inspired by the African spirit of OYA and the strong beautiful women of the group. Composer Ann Reynolds has created a unique arrangement of Songo Borracho for steelpan, plus a surprise group of amazing percussionists will be adding a touch of Afro Peruvian rhythms to the concert - excited!  Contact us if you are interested in volunteering. Today the Seattle Foundation celebrates philanthropy by encouraging YOU to give to the causes you feel the most passionate about. La Sala is one organization I support with time and resources. Here is a peak at how our local LATINX artists are making a difference in our community. Check out La Cocina, an art pop-up exhibition, produced by La Sala. Wherever there is art - there will be dancing, inclusion, tolerance and space for creativity! Support here today.
